In 2020, we supported the international initiative Fur Free Retailer/Sklepy Wolne od Futer and officially opposed the cruel breeding of animals for fur.
This year, on November 25, two different occasions coincided in time Black Friday and Fur Free Day, i.e. occasions to celebrate and not really... We definitely celebrated Fur Free Day! Our shoes, even the insulated winter ones, are free of animal materials. We do not use any raw materials that would cause animal suffering. We support initiatives related to the ban on fur farming, which are organized in Poland and other places. Without hesitation, we signed the Fur-Free Europe petition. The initiative is promoted by the Otwarte Klatki Association, an organization that actively and effectively fights for animal rights.
According to data from the organization Otwarte Klatki:
(...) on the international clothing market, 1,572 companies have already opposed fur, including 120 companies based in Poland. Among Polish brands, these include CCC, DeeZee, Answear.com, Local Heroes, Medicine, MISBHV, the Vistula group and LPP. International fashion companies, also present on the Polish market, have also moved away from animal fur, including Stradivarius, Pull & Bear, Wrangler, Zalando, C&A, Bershka and H&M. Iconic, world-famous companies, such as Gucci (2017), Versace (2018), Prada (2019), Burberry (2019) or Jimmy Choo (2017), have long officially announced a change in their policy on the use of fur. Over the past year, adidas (2021), Alexander McQueen (2021), Balenciaga (2021) and TALLY WEiJL (2022) have also spoken out against fur. The initiative of Sklepy Wolne od Fur is also supported by magazines, e.g. ELLE.
Some countries are also resigning from the cruel breeding of animals for fur. Specific changes in the law have already been decided, among others, by: Italy, Great Britain, Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Serbia, Luxembourg, North Macedonia and Slovenia, and this year only - Latvia, Malta and Ireland. We hope that this cruel practice will soon be banned in Poland as well.
