IS IT TIME FOR ETHICAL FASHION WHICH HAS NO PLACE FOR THE USE OF ANIMALS?

On:

There is an ever-growing movement in the fashion industry towards cruelty-free, sustainable and ethical practices. Many designers and brands are now offering alternatives to animal-based materials to meet the demand for more responsible and sensitive fashion choices.

Many animal-derived materials, such as fur, leather and exotic skins, are obtained through practices that raise serious animal welfare concerns. As a permanent part of the fashion industry, animals are often subjected to inhumane conditions, such as being kept in crowded factory farms or closed spaces. They are also subjected to painful procedures such as debeaking and tail docking.

Moreover, the use of exotic animal skins in fashion may increase demand for illegal wildlife trade, contributing to the threat and extinction of species. Protecting these animals and their habitats is crucial for biodiversity and ecosystem functioning.

Equally important, the production of materials of animal origin has a significant impact on the environment. Raising animals for fur, leather and wool contributes to deforestation, overgrazing, water pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.

Cruelty-free alternatives

There are ethical alternatives that do not harm animals. Faux fur, synthetic leather, microfiber and other sustainable materials such as Pinatex, grape leather, cork - can provide aesthetics and functionality without the ethical dilemmas associated with animal products.

As consumers, we all have influence on making our own purchasing decisions. We believe that alternative products to animal products will be increasingly sought after as ethical and sustainable fashion options.

Fairma Ethical Design is a brand that uses cruelty-free practices towards animals (and, of course, people). We do not use materials such as natural leather, glues made from ingredients of animal origin or other substances that could cause harm. Our shoes are 100% vegan. Therefore, by choosing our products, you have an impact on the fashion industry and the future of the planet.
